Photo of Stretch Twin-Fin surfboard.

Stretch's shorter, wider, double-winged round pin twins in the 80's led to the evolution of the Rat Skate outline and together with Nathan's design input, the Fletcher Four-Fin. With that being said, there’s still nothing that surfs quite like a twin. This is the refinement of Stretch's favorite board with the benefits of advanced bottom contours and fin placement which solved the uncontrollable drift and slide through turns. Expect a positive, clean turning board with a predictable release. It holds on the bottom, has a playful release off the top, loves hollow waves and flies down the line.

Recommended sizes

Order the same dimensions as a Fletcher Four-Fin or up to 1/4" wider.

Tail Options

The Stretch Twin-Fin comes standard with wings (either single or double) in swallow or round pin.

  • Round Tail This is the looser of the two templates on the Stretch TWIN-FIN
  • Swallow Tail
  • Wings The Stretch Twin-Fin comes standard with wings (either single or double)

Types of Tails

Round Pin Tail

  • Moves the "sweet spot" slightly farther ahead on the board, in front of the fin cluster.
  • Offers a different release & hold for deep carves and more drawn out turns
  • Shortens the "effective rail line" and with respect to board length, resulting in less area on the tail to penetrate the wave face so that you can actually sink a section of tail deeper than other templates.

Thumb Tail

  • Softens the pivot points on the end of the rail line while keeping a smooth flow like a round pin without taking away the tail width

Squash Tail

  • Top to bottom surfing
  • Free the tail on all your turns
  • HIt the lip and more while you rip it down the line.

Bat Tail

  • Offers a more pivotal, snappy feel
  • Loosens up the board by having the rail line end shorter
  • Relative to other tails, the bat is wider at the block, allowing the rear foot to move further back in to the fin cluster.
  • Combines the swallow tail feel but with more stability

Diamond Tail

  • Offers an aesthetic alternative to the bat tail while keeping the same performance features

Swallow Tail

  • Quick, loose and responsive for snappy turns off the top
  • For similar results with a more distinctive look, try our Moon tail

Baby Swallow Tail

  • Quick, loose and responsive for snappy turns off the top
  • Baby swallow tail is a reduced version primarily used on big wave boards

Deep Swallow Tail

  • Quick, loose and responsive for snappy turns off the top
  • For similar results with a more distinctive look, try our Moon tail

Moon Tail

  • With performance features similar to the swallow tail, the Moon adds a much more distinctive look.

Winged Tail

  • Pulls in the outline at the trailing edge of the fins as a way to break the water along the rail line.
  • Adds a snappier and more pivotal turning characteristic as opposed to a full rail turn.

Fin Options

We recommend, high aspect ratio fins with full tips from 5 1/8" - 5 1/2" deep.

  • Choose from Future or FCS

Also Available

Outline

Similar to the Fletcher Four-Fin, the TWIN-FIN has the wide point exact center with a full nose and full tail. Its straighter rails running from the mid point to the tail provide speed right from take off. The wings placed at the trailing edge of the fins narrow the tail for more composure while pushing through turns with the reduced fin area.

Rocker

Continuous rocker broadens the sweet spot, increases turning ability and adds a predictable feel under your feet.

Rails

Very round and soft medium to medium-full 50/50 rail that holds the wave face no matter where you lean the board. Rails remain soft all the way into the fins and turn hard with the wing(s) at the trailing edge of the fin.

Bottom

Slight vee in the nose to a 5/16" deep single concave between your feet. Slight vee out the tail.
